Pre Bentley Manual

Filling and bleeding LAD system

With engine off, fill power steering/LAD fluid reservoir unit fluid level is approximately 1 in. below reservoir rim.

The bydraulic system on early E32 cars uses Pentosin CHF 7.1 hydraulic fluid.

Beginning with cars produced in September 1991, Pentosin CHF 11 S is used in the hydraulic system.

Load car with 332lbs placed in the luggage compartment.

Start engine. Turn steering whell from lock to lock three times. Ture engine off.

Raise rear of car until drive wheels are off ground. Wait about two minutes and check fluid level. Fluid level should be no more then 1 in. above the base of the reservoir screen. Correct the fluid level as necessary.
