BMP and other sources have R134 compressors that bolt right on for $425 or so. Plus o-rings, dryer, etc. On the web. I don't have the exact address.

: I have been informed that my compressor is dead (leaking). I also understand that this is the single most expensive part of the A/C system. Does anyone rebuild them?/can they be rebuilt/?. Is there an aftermarket fix?
: How much is a new one? Who has best prices?
: would it be better to convert to R134? What's the most cost effective way to get cold air in my car (BESIDES OPENING THE WINDOWS)? Any help is appreciated.
