: : I have a 1992 750il with a strong smell of gasoline in the interior. I've checked the hoses at the fuel tank outlet, the hoses at the fuel filters, looked at the fuel delivery lines from the tank to the fuel rails and am drawing a blank. Anyone had a similar prob.? Any other place I should look? Injectors don't seem to be leeking, and I can see no evidence of fuel on the engine when it is running.HELP.

: I have a '89 750 and I smell gas only when it is very cold. Dealer told me that the engin runs rich while cold which may cause the smell. I didn't quite believe him so I tightened all clamps connecting the fuel rails in the engin and it got a lot better.

I notice a number of connections that could be the culprit--there appear to be app eight clamps in the engine compartment: pressure regulators, feed lines and returns. then there are a number of connections in the rear around the fuel pumps, filters and overflow tank for the gas tank. I would check each one and the quality of hoses (even a tiny crack/leak will result in the smell).Hope this helps.
