I work for a European car dealer that does a lot of BMW work. We have had a lot of V12 powered BMW's come in with the same problem. The most common place for the leak (99% of the cars) is the fuel line that runs under the intakes right along the fire wall. It is very hard to get to because of its location and difficult to tell if it is leaking. I would recommed replacing this line even if it doesn't appear to be leaking. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

: I have a 1992 750il with a strong smell of gasoline in the interior. I've checked the hoses at the fuel tank outlet, the hoses at the fuel filters, looked at the fuel delivery lines from the tank to the fuel rails and am drawing a blank. Anyone had a similar prob.? Any other place I should look? Injectors don't seem to be leeking, and I can see no evidence of fuel on the engine when it is running.HELP.
