I don't know if it's worth the hassle.

I just saw in Japan that all the big known manufacturers are selling TV units that are flat and have a tuner incorporated ($500).
The screens are typically biggers (6 to 7") and the picture is nicer that the BMW nav LCD, and can be installed on the arm rest for the back passengers.

My experience with my TV (1998 740il) is that reception is quite poor and unstable, except for the shopping channels. Not many good channels show at all (Seattle area).
