I would STAY AWAY from it. I have a '90 735i and on hot days the needle is a tick past the middle mark. On VERY hot days (100+ degrees) I can't sit at a red light for more than one minute before the needle RACES to 3/4. From what I learned from my car, you should take note on: If it has tits or wheels, sooner or later it's going to be trouble. I had to replace my head gasket at 145,000 miles (the day after I got back from Vegas).

No, it wasn't hot in Vegas. But I did acomplish an average speed of 98 Mph (Note that the average speed on the Autobahn is 75 Mph). I did hit a top speed of 147 Mph (and yes, I know these cars are electronicly limited to 141).

Needless to say, I had to shell out $800.00 for a head gasket job. And since I was in there, I replaced the motor mounts, and had the valve guides replaced and the heads resurfaced. Not to mention renting an Oldsmobile Alero for TWO WEEKS.

What to I have to show for it now? Reciepts.

$1900.00 later for the mechanic and $600.00 for the rental car have had me thinking about something...I shouldn't have been such a cheap bastard and bought a 740 instead.
