No issues with impact resistance - will help to hold the window together if shattered. The problem my arise if you want to remove the aftermarket tint - is possible that the "plastic film" and new tint film will stick together. Probably a non-issue though, usually the plastic layer is laminated within.

I'd planned on having my car windows tinted today but read in the manualthat this is discouraged because the windows are already coated with a plastic film on the inside surface (to prevent shattering on impact) -

Should I heed this warning or go ahead with my plan? (if it's such a problem, why are there so many late mode BMW's out there with tinted widows)
