No issues with impact resistance - will help to hold the window together if shattered. The problem my arise if you want to remove the aftermarket tint - is possible that the "plastic film" and new tint film will stick together. Probably a non-issue though, usually the plastic layer is laminated within.-robert k lee
I'd planned on having my car windows tinted today but read in the manualthat this is discouraged because the windows are already coated with a plastic film on the inside surface (to prevent shattering on impact) -
Should I heed this warning or go ahead with my plan? (if it's such a problem, why are there so many late mode BMW's out there with tinted widows)
