Has anyone had a problem with the power steering hose leaking or failing? I had a severe leak, took my 750 IL in and they said it was a hole in the ps hose. They replaced the hose ($40 labor, $250 for the part!)Two weeks later and I have ps fluid all over the place again. Any ideas? Also, I know a V-12 750 is going to drink a lot of gas. But my 750's thirst seems excessive. I notice a strong smell of gas when I am at at idle and the engine seems to be running a little rough. Is this typical of 750's? Does the 750 have be kept in constant tune to avoid inefficient gas consumption? Is there something wrong with the injectors? Thanks in advance for you help. KA Seiwell
You do not say what year this is - but it sounds as though it is not new.
Therefore it is possible that you have a leaking injector, or fuel connection in the engine compartment. This will probably be move common in cooler weather. And you will notice it more if there is any leakage in the seals around the air intakes for the cabin air.
Another cause could be if you (or an attendant) are overfilling the tank (should stop when the nozzle clicks off the first time).
Otherwise the overflow tank gets raw gas and this gets taken through the charcoal filter to the engine to be burned. It can cause a rough idle and gas smell for a while after filling - depending on how quickly you use the gas after filling.
