DSC is standard on 1998 740s produced 9-1-97 and later. 1998 740s produced 6-1-97, 7-31-97 and in between did not have DSC. All of the BMW factories in Dingolfing (which is a suburb of a city in Germany called Munich) close down and take a vacation for the whole month of August every year. DSC has been standard on the 750 since 1995. Hope this helps.
