Did any 1995 740i contain the Alusil M60B40 (i.e. the good short block) as the stock engine. I'm hearing that cars built after June 1995 didn't have the Nikasil problem. How can I tell?

TIA

From the BMW documents I've seen the original M60B40 and M60B30(4.0 and 3.0 liter) engines were Nikasil. The Alusil was releases with the 1996 model year and the M62B44 engine. The M70 and M73 , V12 have always been alusil.
