What is the code option for on the NAV screen on a 98 740il.Just bought the car and do not have any books.Typical on leased cars.

That is the anti-theft security code. Additional security.

If you input a 4 digit code (of your choosing) and then hit set and turn off the ignition the car will not start the next time without inputting the same code.

Whn set and attmpting to start the car the starte will not operate - but the car will prompt you to input the code.

You have 3 attempts to input the correct code or the alarm will sound.
