Bob, I just did my '99, and had no issues.....you have to snap it in at a 45 degree angle, the rear (inner, the side going towards the caliber rather than toward the hub) part going in first.

What's the secret to fitting the new pads into the calipers on the rear brakes? I had no trouble with the front, but the rear don't seem to have enough clearance to get them both into the calipers. Obviously, I'm missing something, but I can't seem to see it. Thanks in advance.
