Well I myself would go with a Jag XJR over a 740i, if I wanted all out performance and stellar acceleration. But if I wanted comfort and intuned driving as well as lots of advanced tech in a vehicle I would take a 740iL. I don't think that that comparing an XJR and a 740 is fair. The XJ8 and the 740 is a better comparsion seeing how they are both naturally aspirated V8 luxury cruisers. In a comparsion of those two I would take the BMW hands down. There is something about a BMW no matter what they produce, be it a 4X4 sport utility or a gas sipping 318 when you drive one they always keep the driver in touch with his/her sporty side. I like BMW's because when the driving gets boring, they can always make things fun! I know you own a couple of BMW's but I hope this helps with your desicion.

drove 7 yesterday, harsh, seats will take getting used to...nice nav tho...
will drive jag next week....also, any opinion on Jag XK8 coupe without charger...tia
