16" stock wheels vs. 18" wheel ride (archive)

I have been thinking of installing the sport upgrade version 18" parallel spoke wheels and tire setup on my '00 740iL, replacing the stock 16" multi spoke wheels it came with. How much of a ride sacrifice is there? How harsh could it become? I had no plans on a spring change but will it sit too high on the stock springs? I know the handling will improve dramatically but will I wreck the great ride it now has in the process? Thanks in advance! Milt
