I'd love to see them offer the M5 engine as an option for the 740i Sport, but I think the marketing folks see too many potential risks --
1) Losing 750 sales
2) Losing M5 sales
3) Concerns about 7 chassis/suspension not being up to handle HP

Valid concerns, but also short sighted in many ways. As we say in the Silicon Valley, you may need to "eat your own young" and force some of your own products to compete with each other rather than sit back and let a competitor obsolete them for you.

Of course, if they had better production of the v8, it would make this easier. I continue to hear stories about V8 production shortages, particularly affecting X5 4.4 availability.
