DSC off. A/C off. Don't start in drive. Or 4. Start in 3. Brake the thing and watch the light on the cross street. When it goes yellow, rev up to about 12-1500 and when you see red on the cross floor it. Make sure no light jumper is there to waste you both. My 750 takes off like a scalded cat when I do this. I shut down some snot nosed kid in a hotty chevy last night so bad it was pitiful. Box stock 750il, just 300 Hp and 2 tons of German steel and all.
Shift up at about 5.5-6K cause your 8 just doesn't scream like my sweet 12'er. Stay on the top of the torque curve.
Yes the stock 7'er is heavy but it can run nicely in the curves, but you need to know how to drive it. Depends on the conditions too. The 3's are lighter and less powerful, so driving skill is essential to the outcome.
Dinan won't help as much as a day at a good driving school.

I can't believe it, my car has 52,000 miles on it and it has been well taken care off. Last night after clubbing, a white 325i probably around the year 1993 because it still has a black under spoiler wanted to race me. I put my transmission at D and floor it. To my surprise, the 325i pulled away from me after 25 miles/hr fast, I mean REAL fast. Then we came upon a red light. This time I'm more ready and I put the transmission in 4 (which is the sport mode since there's an S writen on the instrument display. Then I floored it again, it was the same result. Oh my god, this big brother car has lost speed to the youngest brother car. Outrageous.
From now on, I'm gonna think about getting Dinan performance chip, air intake and exhaust and see if it helps a bit to move this big ass car faster.
