Protecting sand interiors (archive)

Hi,

I'm expecting delivery soon of a 2001 740i Sport with a sand interior, and I'm wondering if you have any advice for preventative maintenance for protecting the interior.

For instance, sand interiors tend to show more marks from shoes around the doors and the floor. Any suggestions on minimizing these marks (other than wearing clean, white shoes? :-) Are these marks usually easy to remove?

Does the 7-series come with floor mats? If not, any suggestions on where to get mats, other than from the dealer?

Finally, any recommendations on detail shops in San Francisco?
