what should i know about sevens when buying a pre-owned. what usually goes bad.etc..

The 1995 7's had a bad engine block. The composition of the engine was not suitable for US gas. As a result, many engines had to be replaced on these models. You might want to check the archives on this site for more info on this problem. If you are buying a 1996-up model, there is nothing to worry about mechanically. As 7 series cars get older you might see some electrical problems but usually nothing major. You might want to look into buying a certified pre-owned car from a BMW dealer or buying an extended warranty for the car.

Good Luck,
