I bought an extended warranty last week for my '98 740iL w/68K miles. The marketing name is Smartchoice 2000, however the issuer of the warranty is NWIG (National Insurance Warranty Company - www.nwig.com). I called the local BMW dealership (Momentum BMW) and they recommended them specially due to covering all high-tech original equipment such as LED display lights, DSP, CD player...as well as all seals and gaskets which can be costly. My contract was $1,900 for 3 yrs / 36K miles w/$100 deductible per visit. I am sure they have a phone number on their website, but if you don't find it, let me know and I will get it for you.

I'm looking at extended warranties for a '97 740iL with 59k mi. Anyone had any experience with WarrantybyNet? Pretty comprehensive coverage - 3 yr, 40k mi for about $2000, or 4 yr, 50K mi for about $2500. Any other suggestions? Seems like there are dozens of companies offering warranties.
