Remains to be seen if they honor the warranty without a hassle. Local dealer spoke with them before I purchased it, said they had no problem with the terms, which include wearout fixes, not just "breakdown". We'll see, and I'll report on results during the next year.

I'm looking at extended warranties for a '97 740iL with 59k mi. Anyone had any experience with WarrantybyNet? Pretty comprehensive coverage - 3 yr, 40k mi for about $2000, or 4 yr, 50K mi for about $2500. Any other suggestions? Seems like there are dozens of companies offering warranties.
My advise would be to definately get the warranty. One way to help you decide is to contact the shop you intend to use and ask them who they have dealt with and like. It seems that the couple different ones I have had paid off. One on an Isuzu Trooper replaced a cylinder head, another on a Honda Accord replaced a trans mission and an alternator. They paid for OE parts at the dealer in each instance anfd more than paid for themselves. My car has the BMW warranty, unfortunately yours is ineligible due to milage.
