we were told we bought a 740iL- looking on the metal plate back of the front door, it states 740iAL - what in the world is that!!!????? see the prices are different also?

i don't see an 'L' listd under the 740A - but do for 740iL. is one a shorter wheel base also? this is for a year 2000.thank you!

Here you go:
'i' stands for injection, as in fuel injection
'L' stands for long wheel base, as in five inches longer that the base model (740i)
'A' stands for automatic, which all U.S. models are.
