That is a "trick" put there by one of the web designers. I caught a similar "trick" on the Mercedes website and called them on it. At first they denied it, but finally admitted that one of their graphic artist was having a bit of fun.



Just saw a 2001 740il (manufactured in September) - has a new navigation system fills the width of the dash. Looks great. It's visible on the bmwusa site in the 740 gallery.
