98 740i Wheel does not auto retract..... (archive)

I have a new ( to me) 740i. The steering wheel moves with the stalk, and moves w/ the memory buttons. However, it does not "park" itself when the key is turned off. The manual is abit unclear on this. My LS400 had an override switch for this feature......Am I missing something obvious here ?
