Yes they keep your cars VIN in a central data base with all vital repairs and history. It is North American wide too. So even if you were in say Mexico The data would be on hand. Most new cars are data based. ie. My 99 Chevy Tahoe was serviced in another state and they had all the trucks history from my local dealers work center.
