Of course it will render the current 7 obsolete. By the very fact that they will not be making it any more.
Expect the new 7 to be as good as the MB S class but with a sportier ride (thats what the BMW rep told me) and the innovative new iDrive control system for the computers.
It looks very different on the outside so I would expect it to look very different on the inside too

what about buyers and their 2000/01 models- did they throw-out money purchasing the 740il in that case (current models will be osolete as of 2002 )
