Hi there, Thanks for your common sense advice and reassurance of my purchase. They are great cars but the few little gliches I am having has sort of spoilt my excitement with them. Are you from New-Zealand? I've sent an e-mail and It was a kiwi address so I guess you are huh? I dont live in Auckland but I travel up there frequently. I am about 2 hours away in Tauranga. (Bay Of Plenty) You're right about the key. I left mine in my pocket and it went through the bloody wash! can you believe it. what a thickhead! The key worked firn but the transmitter didn't do a thing. I tried re-initializing it in hope it was nothing major, nothing. In the end I took it to the BMW dealer, just waiting for them to tell me it would cost $100+. Instead, to my surprise and relief, the dealer said it would cost $24 (NZ) to replace the batteries. The transmitter itself is nearly waterproof, Although Im not going to be leaving the key in my pocket again in a hurry! It works like a charm again. The guy at BMW advised me not todamage it too badly, because a new one costs hundreds. Where is this guy in Grey Linn? That would great thanks. Also, you said something about finding out all the service history?? That would be awesome. I've e-mailed you anyway asking for more info. The headliner on the inside is getting fixed. The idiot that is doing it took 15 days to get it and when it came he realised that he had ordered the wrong colour. I went to another upholsterer to day and he said it was probably the spong behing the cloth and it will cost about $200. The dealer is fixing and paying for it anyway. Thanks for your advice once again, They are great cars and I hope yours will last a lifetime, as I hope will mine. Kind Regards, Charles
