740iL has standard comfort seats. On 740i they are optional.

Is there a difference between the 740i and the 740iL??? Also, would you list them please.
Thanks so much,
Von

Hi Von,
Yes, there is a difference between the 740i and the 740iL. THe first two differences are, the 740iL is 40kg heavier in its unladen weight than the 740i. It also has a 40kg heavier permissable weight. This is caused by the most noticeable difference of all. The L in the 740iL stands for long-wheelbase, just like L in the mercedes S600L does. The long wheelbase in the L range (728iL,730iL,735iL,740iL & 750iL) is 140mm longer than the standard wheelbase (728i, 730i etc.) which measures 2930 mm.
Overall, the engine capacity of 4398cc (4.4L) remains the same in both models.
I hope I could have been of assistance to you,
Kind Regards,
Charles
