It is possible to install PDC. It will cost you. A friend of mine just installed this system on his 2000 M5.

Is the PDC feature for the 740s an easy and inexpensive add-on. Or is there any aftermarkets that work as well. The reason I ask is that I have a wife who loves driving the car but is concerned with parking.
Thanks
Hi,
The Park distance control feature on the 7-series is a pretty complicated system. I have it on my 730iL and I know that it is an option, but Im, not too sure whether it is a factory option. If it is a factory option, I doubt they will be able to have it installed. You will probably have to ask your BMW dealer whether it is possible. I guess it will be complicated because of everything to do with the airbag sensors etc.
BMW are not the only car manufacturers that have PDC, and I know for a fact that Mercedes-Benz call it Parktronic. The best thing to do first would be to see your dealer and ask if it can be fitted. Then you can go and see if there are any
aftermarket systems available.
I hope you succeed,
Kind Regards,
Charles
