Hi Ray. Good move if you plan on keeping it. Try the archive search to see many posts on various extended warranty companies. There are probably dozens. It seems that there are "bumper to bumper" warranties that are around $2500 and basic ones for about $1500. The big differences, aside from the level of parts covered, are in the length of time, how they calculate the time period that the warranty goes into effect, and the definition of a "breakdown" vs a "wearout". Research the web sites that offer these carefully and compare on the aspects that are important to your needs.

Nobody here on this site has, to my knowledge, expressed any bad experiences with any particular warranty company, but it's worth asking about.

I have not made a claim with Warranty Direct, yet, but if and when I do, I will post some info on the experience.I picked them because the 6 years START when you buy the warranty, and I tend to keep cars for 10 or more years, so when my 97 E38 was going off factory warranty, I picked a plan that lasted a long time.

Bob

I am in the process of extending the warranty on my car. I would appreciate it if people could post the name of their extended warranty company, the price, the term of coverage, and the level of coverage. Thank you all in advance.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it.
