i too don't think automatic locking is an option for this car...
as for the "P" light, i had the same concern when i first got my 7...the dealer told me it goes out 20 minutes or so later, if i recall. it turns on again when you unlock the door or lift a door flap...so it just SEEMS like its always on, but rest assured it does go off after a while...
