The history sheet on my 91 735iL says that it has ASC, EDC, and limited slip differential. (ASC & EDC were obvious because of the buttons...the LSD came as a surprise) If ASC reduces engine power when it detects wheel spin...and the limited slip differential is allowing the wheel with traction to turn when the other wheel has lost traction...isn't this sort of redundant? Which one has priority when slippage is detected? Or does the ASC only kick in when both wheels slip and the LSD kicks in when only 1 wheel slips? I know there is probably a good reason to have both...so can someone please educate me?
