Strange interior noises in my 2001 740i Sport (archive)

I've had my 2001 740i for a few weeks and I'm noticing a slight adjustment noise coming from the dash. It happens intermittently. The dealer told me it's the adjustments being made when the temperature contol is on "auto"......now I'm noticing it even when I'm not using the "auto" setting. Has anyone else experienced this?
