Opinions on an '01 STEEL BLUE 740i Sport (archive)

Can't find even ONE here in the Northeast. Saw a specially ordered car last week that was absolutely stunning - especially in combo with the sport wheels. Why are dealers so afraid to order this particular color for stock? I've seen numerous 3's and 5's in this color in showrooms.
I did see one last night pulling up to a restaraunt, but it was really filthy and frankly didn't look that great at night. Don't know if it was because it was so dirty or that steel blue just doesn't look that great at night. Next choice is Orient Blue - but every other 740 Sport I see is Orient and am looking for something different. Orient looks great at night but 95% of my driving is during the day, so would prefer the Steel Blue.
I know beauty is in the eye.... albeit very personal.
What's your opinion? Just curious.
