I own a 1994 740iL with 47,000 miles on it. Currently the engine is running fine with no hint of rough idle. However, since my car is outside of the BMW factory 100,000-mile/6-year extended warranty, I am worried about my engine developing this problem in the future and who will then pay for the short block replacement. Did BMW NA in fact pay for your new replacement short block even though you were also outside of this extended warranty???
