They figured it out and are now (actually 1997-on) installing the correct blocks in new cars and are furthermore replacing the flawed early blocks with the correct ones, within the warranty specs. They are doing it the right way. Classy outfit, actually.

OK, here's the $64,000 ($72,000?) question: Has BMW corrected the design flaw, or are they still installing the same problematic V8 in their current new car lineup?
