I took my 97 740i in to the dealer with the same complaint - noisy & my sunroof rattled when I went over rough roads. I talked to the tech and he showed me how they had installed some strips of a "velcro-like" material. It seemed kind of hoaky, but it worked. And, no charge.


Changing the gasket to the new type (with ridges)seems to have helped the wind noise in mine somewhat. I also paid to have the sun roof realigned and maybe thats what did the trick. Its been about 6 months since the work and I can see my sunroof starting to dip in the driversside from corner and the noise starting to increase... Oh well. Maybe one of these days BMW will get wind noise issue taken care of. My 2001 X5 has a horrendous amount of noise as well, so I am not too hopeful...

does anyone have information for me regarding this leak? is an adjustment available or is replacement gasketing the answer. this has been an earlier topic, however, i did not notice any resolve. thank you.
