I read from a previous post that you have changed the supension on your car. My 97 feels a little loose to me so I am looking at options for a supension upgrade. Did the upgrade lower your car? How much? Did you put the 19's on before the supension, if so was their a hugh gap between the fenders and the wheels? What's the gap now? Where did you order the parts and about what price?
I think the upgrade would be more cost effective than original equipment. And more bang for the buck. Your suggestions would be appreicated.
I had everything done at the same time, but modifications had to be made along the way. I put the wheels and springs on first, which only slightly lowered the car and seill left a noticable gap at the wells. The ride was a hell of a lot tighter, but the ride was too cushiony because of the factory struts. So I changed the front struts and had the springs cut and recoiled, giving me the perfect drop, great handling and ride. My gap now is nill in the rear and 1/2 in. in front. I have a guy working on eliminating the rear leveling system to replace with performance struts. This will make the handling and ride much, much tighter.
As for the parts, I got the strut from Bavarian Autosport for about $625 for the front and rear, the springs from H&R for $275. I had some factory suspension parts replaced so that all would be new.
Thanks for the response. Are the H&R springs the race or the sport springs. Why did you have the springs cut and recoiled? Are you referring to the H&R spring or the factory springs?
