richard,
thanks for the info.

You will want to visit www.tirerack.com. Their website has everything you want to know about tires. I assume your 18" tires came with Michelin tires with a treadwear rating of 140, versus 300 which other tires come with. My 1999 750iL came with 18" wheels, with 235/50/18 on the front, and 255/45/18 on the back. Being in Canada, I wanted to replace my tires with All-season tires, but there are none available for the front size. The Michelin Pilot Sport series does have replacement summer tires available identical to the OEM tires , and with appropriate load ratings. The 7 series need tires with sufficient load rating, and it was something I wasn't aware of as a concern until I started reading the Tirerack info.

Richard

what tires should I use to replace the stock tires on my 2000 740 i Sport. I understand that the original tires can not be bought in the US. I have not called the dealer to see if I can buy them there; I'll do that next.

Is there a better replacement? What have you other Sport owners done? Ive gotton about 15K on these originals.

Rick
