Unlock and Lock buttons on Key Wearing out (archive)

The lock and unlock buttoms are wearing out on the remote entry key, is there a way of replacing these rubber buttons? Is there a way of buying just the key blank with out the electronics? The parts guys at the local BMW dealership in Austin know nothing except buy a new key for $150.
