What is very unpopular is exchanges of insults that have nothing to do with what is being discussed. My comments below do not deal with what was being discussed, it has only to do with how some people make it into a verbal fight throwing crap at eachother.

I'm glad you're enjoying the board :) I've been on here only 2-3 months, and have received a lot of useful advice. I'm looking forward to exhange more experiences and advice as we go along. Seeya later :)

Big-T, thanks a mil for takin the time to explain this. But still, i wanna know something: would it sound O.K. to ask for a comparison between 2 BMWs ? personally i don't see any reason why conducting a debate over what's best should be a prob....coz honestly i REALLY wanna try and rest my mind on the debate between a 540iA and a 740iL...let's suppose i ask this in public... would i be losing this "popularity" ? coz its not like i don't care... on the contrary, i feel part of a community here. ;)


There were a few treads earlier that started out as discussions of whether BMW or Mercedes was the best car, and one about engine problems and consumer rights. These discussions degenerated into childlike pissing contests sounding more like "my dad is stronger than your dad", with Ya think and others posting insults back and forth. Unfortunately, Ya Think has no consideration whatsoever for the rest of the partipants on the board, and decided that he would instigate more of these pissing contests - just like how he started this one. He's also too much of a coward to post his name and e-mail, which in itself is a sign that he has no real intentions on the board. HAven't heard from Ya Think in a while, so maybe he's getting the point - or changed his user name, like he did at least once before. I'm hoping we'll have productive and helpful discussions from now on.

I love this forum... & i love the wise 7 drivers who fill me in on the valuable data too...

But i wanna ask u a question I hope i get an answer to... Why was Mike-T treated that way ? Would it be vicious to compare 2 monsters of a loveable brand ? You see, there ARE 3 others who posted their msgs saying they didn't get it... I'm included :) just would luv to learn more...
