I have a 97 740il and I am changing mine every 3000. I would not let Quicklube change the oil. I don't think they will have a filter and it is different than what they are used too. I reset my indicator my self with a tool I got from BMP.

I purchased a 98 740il last October with 36k miles and the dealer performed the Inspection II maintenance, which included rear brakes and 2 new rear tires. My question is how often should I change the oil and rotate the tires or is the standard 3K miles good for bimmers also? Will I get a MSG from the console when the oil needs changing? In addition, is the local QuickLube or JiffyLube sites ok for these type of cars or should I stay with the stealer (as ED M put it). I guess I need to get my hands on a maintenance schedule book.

Thanks, BigH
