Very cool information! BMW always releases their 7 series with a luxury in mind, then 1-2 years down the road they have their engineers upgrade the suspension, tires and other goodies and you have a SPORT edition... I would expect one in 2004-5.
Cant wait to see the I-Drive central console they gonna offer...
and I cincerely hope for all-wheel drive E65 or E60 (5 series) down the road.. It would make it soo much safer in snow and rainy days..

Just returned from LA and Detroit Auto Show previews and learned that the new 7 will debut in Frankfurt this coming September. Which means that it will debut in NA probably in Detroit (January) next year, on sale in early spring. The design staff tells me that it will be longer and wider than current S-class and also expect a slightly longer wheelbase. Tires are upgraded to accomodate the larger body. Unfortunately, the design theme will move toward higher luxury (as opposed to the E38s sport-luxury feel).
Despite this, they (BMW design staff) thinks it should confidently hold its own compared to the recently launched LS430 and the awfully bland new Q45 which was shown in Detroit.
More 411 to come...
