I have a 1994 740il with 90000 km. When the engine is cold the car goes in reverse when the gear shift is in Neutral and it doesn't move at all when in Drive. Thought it could be the shifter so I moved it through all Drive positions. Nothing changed. When in Drive if I step on the accelerator the car will move forward but it feels like the brakes are on, but they're not. After some gentle prodding things seem to work fine. The problem is intermitant but occuring with more & more frequency. Does anybody know what's happening?
