I have an email from BMW NA dated Jan 5, 2001 and I quote: " Although we advised that voice activation may be available in the fall , regrettably, we are unable to advise the exact timeframe." That was last fall. It was supposed to be available with my 2000 740 but its now over a year later and its not available.


Per BMWNA, The CPT8000 is out at most dealers and will shortly be available with the voice activation.


Hi.
The one thing I can see that my wife's Mercedes has over my new 740il ... she hits a button and TELLS the phone what number to dial. It talks back to her and then dials. I have to dial by spinning a knob around a picture of an old-fashioned phone dial. (Flintstones, meet the Flintstones).
Does anyone know if the new phone will have voice interaction/recognition, and when it will be available?
