You can convert to 99-01 headlights, but they are not the same shape, and then you'll have to change to the 99-01 turn signals....and then you have to change the front fenders.....can be pretty expensive, potentially. Nonetheless, it would look great, and I'm considering the same conversion down the road. Sorry, not sure where to get the parts other than from the stealer.

Does anyone know of a place on the net where you can get E38 7-series Headlight assembly units 95-98? Even better, if there is a Headlight assembly that will fit a 95-98 model, but looks more like the 99-2001 Headlight assemblies?
I have seen other 7-seres with 95-98 Assemblies that have a silver trim around the two circle lenses, rather then the standard black trim?
