You may not believe the story you are about to read but what would you do if this happened to you?
I dropped off my 1 week old car at the dealer to have a few accessories installed (really wanted to pick it up when the truck came in as I had a long road trip to go on and the dealer service dept. was backed up.. dealer agreed to let me have the car and then return within a week to get some accessories added).
I returned after 5 days (they said they had a problem with the battery and needed some more time then originally planned so I reluctantly said ok) and the dealer tells me that they have had a little accident. Someone drove the car on a ramp and damaged the sump. All the oil drains and then they proceed to start the 1 week old car with NO oil in the sump and blow up the engine !#$%#^&**& . They never even called me to let me know of this F$%^& UP instead tell me about it when I pick up the car on Day 5.
So they say ok its really not a problem as we have installed a new (newish) engine and you are free to go ! Oh and by the way here is our bill $$$$ for the accessories.
This actually happened at a major luxury auto dealer !
What would you do ?
1. Ask for a new car
2. Ask for all records (parts/training certs/calibration)related to the install
3. Ask for an extended warranty
This is a SERIOUS request for advice. Please make all responses equally serious as this is NOT a laughing matter for the owner of this 1 week old car.
Thanks in advance.
