Aren't the brakes different too? And the non-iL version has the 3.15 differential, if I'm not incorrect.

Anybody have insight on the cost and scope-of-change (parts) to retrofit a sports package suspension set-up?

Yep!
The sway bars will cost you a couple hundred dollars.
The front & rear springs will set you back $300 plus.
As long as your struts aren't worn out you could wait to replace them.
The labor hours to R&R the front sway bar is the big deal.
