If you decide to get one, whatever you do wait for
the CPT8000. Its due out in about 3 days for the 5 and 7 series. It has a lot more features, and optional voice recognition unit which controls both phone and Nav. Also has caller ID and web browsing (CDMA model only) on the nav screen. The CPT7000 is being discontinued in favor of the CPT8000.

I was considering puting a phone is my '97 740. The dealers informed me that the CPT7000 phone body cost $481. Is this not a Motorola portabable phone that you can buy from AT&T or someone else for a lot less? With the installation kit, and signal amp, the total cost without installation is over $1100. I was just wanting a phone. This is more expensive than aviation electronics and does a lot less.
