Sources tell us that after BMW engineers drove the new Mercedes S-Class, they delayed the fourth-generation 7-series to exceed its ride comfort. As a result, the new flagship BMW will have an air-spring suspension available as an option over the conventional steel-sprung suspension. A new engine option will be a 6.0-liter V-12. Expect to see the new 7-series at the Frankfurt Motor Show next year.


FYI - Just wanted to note that the E65 will debut at this years Frankfurt show which is held in Sep. (the show is held every 2 years).
