I would wait about 4 to 6 months to when ESS and Dinan come out with supercharger kits. The ESS kit will be a new version using the Vortech supercharger. A lot of people have the existing ESS kit with good results for the 4.4 liter. ERT's kit is too expensive for what you get. I also think that an intercooler is not an issue with a boost of 6 to 8 psi (the max you should use on the 4.4 liter engine with stock compression). It would be required at higher boost, but the stock engine will not last long at a higher boost.

I would not use any of the guys who have never touched a BMW or want to put on an external engine controller.

If you are in a hurry, maybe you should look a Racing Dynamics for a stroker kit or engine replacement
